Recon Jet’s second season is underway. We want to make sure everyone running and riding with Jet this summer has a really awesome experience. That’s why we’ve rolled out new versions of ReconOS and Uplink. Both add polish, bug fixes, and new features.
Today, Recon Jet gained a feature I’ve always wanted: IFTTT support. (Update: with ReconOS 4.5, this feature is now also on Snow2.)
IFTTT stands for “if this then that,” and it’s a powerful way to get more out of your favorite devices and web services. On Jet, it means you can get notifications about almost anything you can think of. All you do is pick a service and decide what it should notify you about, and IFTTT does the rest.
We’ve added a new section to Engage.
It’s called Community, and it doesn’t just show you all your friends at a glance. It also makes it super easy to find and add new ones. There’s a list of suggestions, like people you may know or friends of friends. And if you’re looking for inspiration, the Community section lists Engage’s most active users right alongside our Recon-sponsored athletes.
The snow season is here, and we’re off to an awesome start this year. As of this morning, there’s a new killer app out for Oakley Airwave 1.5 and other snow goggles powered by our Recon Snow2 heads-up display. The app is called Airwave GoPro Connect, and it’s going to change the way you use your GoPro out on the slopes.
It’s an awesome time to be a Jet user right now. Last month, we introduced Tap Camera and Auto-Pause. This month, we’re back with another ReconOS update and another huge new feature: support for Bluetooth Smart (a.k.a. Bluetooth LE) fitness sensors.
If you sync your Jet with Uplink today, you’ll see ReconOS 4.2.2 is ready to download. This new release is code-named Pacific, and it adds two major features: Tap Camera and Auto-Pause.
Last month, Recon was acquired by Intel. The weeks leading up to and immediately following the announcement were intense, but Intel did a really amazing job of helping us through the transition. Now, we’re settling back in and doubling down on our mission: making Jet even more capable and powerful.
Today, we’re setting the stage for Jet to become even more powerful. We’re introducing our completely revamped software development kit (SDK), accelerating Jet’s transformation from product to platform.
